There is an urgent need for accessible educational materials on the diverse narratives of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). Our current historical moment has seen anti-Asian violence and anti-Critical Race Theory attacks on academic freedom and democracy. This interactive session on Foundations and Futures: An Asian American and Pacific Islander Multimedia Textbook, weaves open-access technology, more than 50 years of Ethnic Studies scholarship, and Ethnic Studies K–12 pedagogy to develop historical empathy and critical thinking skills among students, teachers, and the greater public.
