Understanding Asian American Students and the Model Minority Stereotype
Saturday October 26, 2024 10:30am - 12:00pm PDT
253
For all of our organizing around racial justice and education, the response to the surge in anti-Asian violence post 2021 also made it clear that many of us still don’t fully understand Asian American racialization. As an active intervention in this lack of understanding, this workshop will be a discussion built around an Asian American Model Minority Scavenger Hunt activity, and will address themes of Asian American identity, immigration, mental health, and school achievement.
